Poor first half and not really sure what went on with their goal.Second half we were the better team but didn’t really feel comfortable.Glad we’ve got the points on board as missing Armstrong,Molyneux and posssibly Mellishmeans we are down to the bare bones as well as injuries.Cant wait to hear what the current regime have plannned.
Can't recall a quicker goal conceded. Sloppy defending and it had to be Jordan Preston (again) who punished us with a neat near post header.
As Watson said, we played too many hopeful balls forward first half. When we got it down and passed it second half, we looked a better team and deserved the draw (at least) against our bogey team. Halifax were nothing special but defended very well. Agreed that JJ was our MotM.
Bit of a scrappy game really, with very few clear chances for either team. I actually missed the Halifax goal as I was just sitting down when it went in!
One thing that did disappoint was the reaction of some supporters to stray passes, of which there were quite a few admittedly. These lads have worked wonders this season and aren’t making mistakes on purpose. With the squad down to the bare bones they need the fans to stick behind them more than ever and not get on their backs. Having said that, the gate today was a real disappointment.
My MOTM would have been a toss up between Mellish, who defended well and carried the ball out of defence impressively, or possibly Armstrong, who worked the Halifax defence all game. It’s interesting how fans see the game differently as I thought Hunter struggled today without White alongside him as he was often outnumbered in the centre.
With suspensions, injuries and loanees returning to their parent clubs, we may now see what the intentions of the new owners are. Leaving Watson to run with the same, depleted squad, could see the season fizzle out. Let’s hope, National League allowing, they provide him with the funds to strengthen to continue the push for a playoff place.
