Good going forward-we must have created ten clear chances. My only worry was sitting far too deep in midfield without the ball. The 3 centre halves is obviously still a work in progress which is fine but Oliver has to move ten yards forward in that system. Preston put in a great shift and a brilliant goal.
Playing two up front makes such a difference. Both Kayode and Preston created constant problems for the Alfreton defence and, when you consider that we missed two sitters in the first half and Preston had one kicked off the line, we could have had six.
Steve Watson used to say that there will always be spells in a game when you are on the back foot. We started the second half slowly and conceded a poor equaliser. But we got back on top and Preston's great strike regained us the lead. A well-earned three points and we also defended solidly for the most part against a side who loaded a lot of balls into the box.
